Canal Noise from St. Gallen and Sand from California
the small gallery tour today in Kreuzberg started with dinner (art on an empty stomach is a bad idea) - the delicious Korean cuisine CORE, Erkelenzdamm 45.
The Roman Signer show at Galerie Barbara Weiss is, as expected, great. Roman Signer just knows how to bring random things together in a beautiful Gestalt with just the right dose of humour. Rumpsti Pumpsti, record store in Treptow, presents also Roman Signer's new LP-edition titled "Kanalgeräusche", recorded 1982 at the river Steinach in St. Gallen, Switzerland:

Then I visited an Editionshow at Chertz, which is a collaboration between Raster, Warsaw and Motto, Berlin (the bookstore next to gallery Chertz. Now I'm totally thinking of ordering that "sand mailed by the artist's mother from california", 2013, by David Horvitz. This unlimited edition consists of an envelope of sand from Californian beach send to you by the artist's mother, as the title explains. Indeed, no longer is Marcel Duchamp sending Paris air to his friend in America. Those times are gone. Now it's just California dreaming…
And here a pic of this beautiful New Year card of Barbara Weiss, featuring a performance of Roman Signer:
